Kevin French


Mr. French has an extensive background in transportation solutions with over 28 years of experience in building and delivering taxi, black car, limo, transit, and para-transit systems including the large scale deployment of a 12,000 vehicle taxi system operated by the world’s largest privately held taxi company. Mr. French joined Gandalf in 1985 as a software designer and has held progressively more senior positions through to the level of Chief Operating Officer. In April 2009, Mr. French was appointed to the office of President.

Mr. French graduated from St. Lawrence College in 1985 with an Electronics Engineering Technologist degree and in 2002 obtained his Executive Master of Business Administration and Master of Management (eMBA and MM) from Lansbridge University and the American Graduate School of Management.

Francine Barbe

Director, Finance & Corporate Controller

Ms. Barbe is currently serving as the Company’s Director of Finance & Corporate Controller overseeing all financial reporting and compliance activities, as well as leading MKC’s forecasting and financial performance, while insuring governance and corporate efficiencies. Prior to joining Mobile Knowledge in 2001, she held various management positions within Nortel Networks and Eftia OSS Solutions with the responsibility to translate company objectives and key operational business drivers into financial goals.

Francine has a solid track record in finance and organizational leadership with expertise in accounting, finance & business analysis. Ms. Barbe is a member of FEI (Financial Executives International).

Chris Plunkett

Director, Product Management

Mr. Plunkett has been defining innovative products and guiding development teams for the benefit of the For-Hire transportation and Paratransit industries for nearly a decade. The solutions that Mr. Plunkett has brought to market include Private Label and Gift Card programs, Paratransit ridership, and Cashiering/Billing systems. Mr. Plunkett is particularly experienced in the areas of legacy systems integration and business process modernization. In his role as Director of Product Management for Mobile Knowledge, Mr. Plunkett leads cross functional teams in the implementation of strategic and bespoke customer requirements, and manages product life cycles within the Company. Mr. Plunkett joined Mobile Knowledge in 2013, leaving his previous executive position with CabConnect.

Mr. Plunkett studied at the University of Toledo in Ohio, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing and E-Commerce.

Bruce Shields

Director, Operations & Hardware Development

Mr. Shields has an extensive background with the design and delivery of application specific embedded computing systems. Since joining Mobile Knowledge in 2000, Mr. Shields has created a strong portfolio of successful electronic design implementations with developments ranging in complexity and including low voltage vehicle power management & filtration systems, highly integrated mobile computing platforms, and complex satellite communication network technologies used by public & commercial field operators. As the Director of Engineering, Mr. Shields is responsible for the design and delivery of the full range of Mobile Knowledge in-vehicle computing platforms and peripheral technologies.

Mr Shields holds an Applied Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering from Canada’s highly esteemed Queen’s University.

Dave Knibbs

Director, Professional Services

Mr. Knibbs is a Technology Professional with more than 32 years of service in the Mobile Data Communications arena. Mr. Knibbs has been active in the Transportation Industry since 1986 when he joined Gandalf Mobile Systems as Manager of Customer Service. Mr. Knibbs has extensive Management experience with a particular focus in the areas of Customer Service, Product Verification and Software Engineering.

Mr. Knibbs holds a BBA degree and diplomas in Electronics Engineering and Microprocessor Technologies, and a certificate in Software Design.



Corporate Advisor

Ross Morgan

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Morgan was appointed Chief Financial Officer in March 2002. He provides strategic advice and assistance to the company including finance, tax and corporate transactions.  Mr. Morgan has over 25 years experience in financial management split between public accounting and technology companies.  He has spent the last 15 years in senior financial executive roles including CFO of Mobile Knowledge, Triacta Power Technologies, Peregrine Systems Canada and Rockstar Consortium. Prior to joining the technology sector, Mr. Morgan spent 11 years with Ernst & Young in Windsor, Toronto and Ottawa.

Mr. Morgan is a CPA and has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Waterloo.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Natunola AgriTech.
