Mobile Knowledge Corp: The Taxi Dispatch Solutions Company

Although we only became known as Mobile Knowledge in early 2002, our roots stretch back almost three decades to the dawn of computerized dispatch in the taxi industry. In fact, some of the people who created and installed the industry's first computerized dispatch system in 1979 are still on our staff today!

Mobile Knowledge was established as SiGEM Inc. in 1997, when it spun off from SiGe Microsystems to commercialize a GPS receiver developed with STMicroelectronics. Subsequent developments included several acquisitions that gave us the critical mass and essential skills needed to drive our business forward.

In March 2002, SiGEM underwent a corporate name change and became Mobile Knowledge, a more dynamic name that helps customers easily identify the nature of our business.

Today, Mobile Knowledge offers advanced GPS, wireless, and mobile data communications technology to customers in a wide variety of markets for enhanced fleet management applications. Industry analysts have described our market as "Commercial Fleet Telematics" and analyst firm Allied Business Intelligence estimates the total addressable market in North America alone at 20 million vehicles, including taxi fleets, leased fleets, heavy trucks and equipment, transit fleets, corporate fleets, and emergency vehicles. According to their recent report, the market for telematics-based commercial fleet management systems is expected to grow from under $2 billion in 2001 to nearly $6 billion by year-end 2007.

With an established customer base including tens of thousands of terminals installed in systems around the world, Mobile Knowledge is ideally positioned to capitalize on this demand.
