Partnerships with Industry Visionaries Offers Powerful Solution to New York Yellow Taxi Owners

Ottawa, Canada, June 1, 2007 - Mobile Knowledge is pleased to announce that it has been approved by the Taxi and Limousine Commission of the City of New York as an authorised supplier to the city's yellow taxi fleet which numbers more than 13,000 vehicles, and has received its first order of 5,000 units for its rear-seat Passenger Information Monitors and Series 2000 driver interface unit. This contract represents the single largest technology sale in Mobile Knowledge's history.

This first order comes from Creative Mobile Technologies who have engineered a value added solution around the Mobile Knowledge PIM and Series 2000 in response to the City of New York's Medallion Taxi Service Enhancements initiative. The PIM is a purpose built device, mounted in the rear facing driver partition of the vehicle, which includes an illuminated, integrated card swipe for credit and debit transactions, and a peripheral "tap and go" payment option. The 10.4 inch display offers a sophisticated and ruggedized touch-screen environment for passenger interaction, and is equipped to provide passengers with information about their trip (i.e. cumulative fare information and maps depicting the coverage area, as well as a "bread crumb" trail of the current route being taken.) Through further CMT partnerships the terminals will offer frequently updated news feeds, public service announcements, advertising and information about the taxi service in general.
