Mobile Knowledge Completes Multimodal System Rollout with Mears Transportation Group of Orlando Florida
Ottawa, Canada, August 22, 2007 - Mobile Knowledge today announced the completion of its most recent multimodal system activation with Mears Transportation Group ("MTG") of Orlando Florida. Mears now leverages the features and functionality of the Cabmate Call Center and Dispatch application to manage its Taxi & Luxury Sedan Fleets. Initiatives are under way to equip their Charter Bus Fleet with Mobile Knowledge technology. Driven by a passion for service excellence, Mears Transportations is the pre-eminent provider of Taxi, Luxury Sedan, Shuttle and Charter Bus services to the City of Orlando, including the booming tourism industry built around Disney World and other major attractions. Founded by the late Mr. Paul Mears in 1939 and starting with three taxicabs, MTG has burgeoned to more than 1000 vehicles including 550 taxis, 205 Luxury sedans, 13 stretch limousines, 75 multi-passenger vans, and 185 motor coaches. Designed to manage large call centers with multiple fleets or multimodal operations, the Cabmate host dispatch software connected to Mobile Data Terminals in the vehicles, allows operators to manage accounts, administer reservations, enforce business rules, and distribute work amongst drivers and vehicles. The Back Office Data Exchange ("BODE") facilities integral to the Cabmate system allows third party and legacy systems to exchange information contained in the dispatch database, reducing the need for double entry while providing operators with the flexibility to select back office system elements that best address their requirements. Mr. Joseph Lenart, VP, Information Technology for Mears Transportation Group expressed his satisfaction with the roll-out, "We are very pleased with the recent activation of the luxury sedan division of Mears. We now have two divisions of the company using two separate Cabmate systems. Mobile Knowledge did a great job developing a custom feature called "curb rotation" along with supporting an AS400 system integration project to pass reservation data from the AS400 system to Cabmate. We also appreciate the on-site support of managers and software developers during the roll-out. They both did an outstanding job with the development and also with the activation effort."
